Cookie Policy

How BuyerNetwork and its identity resolution platforms use cookies, pixels, and similar tracking technologies — and how you can control them.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide information to the owners of the site.

We also use pixel tags — tiny invisible images embedded in web pages that allow us to measure how visitors interact with a page. When our BuyerPixels tag is deployed on a customer website, it uses a combination of first-party cookies and browser signals to recognize returning visitors.

2. How BuyerNetwork Uses Cookies

BuyerNetwork and our platform products (BuyerPixels, BuyerSignals, BuyerStream, BuyerIncentives, and BuyerPass) use cookies and similar tracking technologies for: (1) essential site functionality, (2) analytics and performance measurement, (3) visitor identity resolution on customer websites where our pixel is deployed, and (4) fraud prevention and security.

When our BuyerPixels tag is installed on a customer website, it sets a first-party cookie to recognize returning visitors and associates that signal with our licensed data graph to resolve the visitor's identity into a full contact record.

3. Types of Cookies We Use

Essential cookies — required for the website to function. These cannot be disabled. They include session management, CSRF protection, and load balancing tokens.

Analytics cookies — used to understand how visitors interact with our website using aggregated, anonymized data to improve site performance. Examples include page view counts and session duration.

Identity resolution cookies — deployed via the BuyerPixels tag on customer websites. These cookies match anonymous visitor signals against our licensed data graph to produce a resolved contact record for the customer.

Preference cookies — remember your settings and choices, such as cookie consent status, so we do not prompt you again on future visits.

4. Third-Party Cookies

We may use third-party service providers such as analytics platforms that set their own cookies. These providers are contractually bound to use such cookies only in connection with the services they provide to us.

We do not permit third parties to use cookies collected through our services for their own independent advertising purposes.

5. Your Cookie Choices

When you first visit our website, we display a cookie consent banner that allows you to accept or decline non-essential cookies. You may change your preference at any time by clearing your browser cookies and revisiting the site.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of our website.

To opt out of identity resolution when visiting a website powered by BuyerPixels, submit a data subject request to hello@buyernetwork.io with the subject line "Cookie Opt-Out".

6. Cookie Retention

Essential cookies expire at the end of your browser session or within 24 hours. Analytics cookies are retained for up to 13 months. Identity resolution cookies used for visitor matching are retained for up to 12 months on customer websites.

Preference cookies (such as your consent choice) are retained for 12 months so we do not show the consent banner on every visit.

7. CCPA & GDPR Considerations

Residents of California have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information as defined under the CCPA/CPRA. Our use of identity resolution cookies may constitute a sale or share under this definition. To exercise your opt-out rights, contact privacy@buyernetwork.io.

If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, we rely on your explicit consent as the legal basis for placing non-essential cookies. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

8. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, law, or our data practices. When we make changes, we will update the date shown at the top of this page.

Continued use of our website after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
